Toothache is generally referred to the pain in the tooth or gums. It is also called dental pain. Dental pain can be caused by dental diseases or non-dental diseases. The tooth pain may be sometimes due to sensitivity. But if you have toothache for more than a day or feeling severe tooth pain, get it treated.

Causes of toothache

There are many reasons that can cause pain in teeth. Non-dental conditions may also include muscle pain or pain in jaw. And seldom this may be due to psychological problems.

Prevention

Commonly the reason of tooth pain is tooth decay. And decaying of teeth occurs due to unhygienic routine. So, keep proper oral hygiene such as brush your teeth regularly (twice a day), clean with antiseptic mouthwash once a day, use tongue cleaner to remove bacteria, rinse your mouth after each and every meal, visit your dentist at least once a year for cleaning of teeth.

There are many painkillers available in the market that can relieve pain temporarily. But don’t take medications without prescription. It is important to know the reason of the pain and then treat it. Instead of taking medicine without instructions. Treatment with proper identification of dental problem is very important to prevent it from spreading. Treating without knowledge or non prescribed medicines may result in sever pain or harm to your mouth, face or other parts.
